Yankees fans claw at Mookie Betts in bizarre fan intervention scene

A pair of Yankees fans crossed the line on Tuesday.

Mookie Betts tracked down Gleyber Torres’ long ball down the right field line in the first inning of Game 4 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium as one fan aggressively grabbed the Dodgers star’s glove in an attempt to pull the ball away and another grabbed Betts’ wrist .

Everything they hoped to get out of this heartbreaking move came to nothing: the fans, one wearing an Aaron Judge jersey and the other wearing a Mickey Mantle 42 jersey, were escorted out of the stadium by Yankees security.

It didn’t help the Yankees either, as Torres was ejected for fan interference.

The Bombers, trailing 2-0 after Freddie Freeman hit a game-tying two-run homer, needed all the World Series offensive help they could get, but it wasn’t the wrong kind.

Perhaps it was deja vu for Torres, who had a similar experience in his World Series debut at Dodger Stadium.

With two outs in the top of the ninth inning of Game 1, Torres sent a fly ball to deep left that was scooped up by an eager fan who had reached over the wall to make the catch.
