River Oaks released a statement regarding its suspension from the MAIS playoffs after a 10-0 season

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – River Oaks Principal Erin Thompson released a statement Monday morning regarding a player’s ineligibility decision for the River Oaks football team.

The decision disqualified River Oaks from the MAIS playoffs. The team was 10-0 this season and was on track to become the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Statement: …. “RIVER OAKS DENIES ANYTHING WRONG AND DOESN’T ACCEPT THE UNFORTUNATE OUTCOME. HOWEVER, AFTER DISCUSSION WITH CARFUL AND REVIEW OF ALL APPLICABLE RULES IN THE INTEREST OF OUR SCHOOL, WE CANNOT TAKE FURTHER ACTION. WE RESPECT MAIS AND ITS RULES, WE HAVE AGREE TO ABIDE BY THEM AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. WE THANK ALL OUR FAMILIES AND SUPPORT FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND LOVE THROUGHOUT THE LAST WEEK.”
