Fortnite Chapter 2 remix confirmed with ‘melodic twist’

Regardless of your views on real-time gaming, FortniteThe constant stream of new content is something to behold. However, even Epic can’t resist the temptation of nostalgia, as the imminent Chapter 2 Remix mini-season looks set to take things back to the best era of the battle royale once again. While there have been many leaks and some teasers from Epic, it has now finally been confirmed that there will indeed be a corresponding in-game event that will lead to Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix and that the “melodic turn” is ahead.

Over the past few days, several short and fast-forward teasers for the new season of Fortnite footage from old trailers for Chapter 2 has been released. However, many of the skins in those trailers have been edited with new looks that are almost certainly reimagined versions of the original skins that will appear in the battle pass or in-game store. Also, official word from Epic about the Chapter 2 remix has been sparse – until today.

In a new post on the official Fortnite In X’s account, Epic confirms that “we’re going back to Chapter 2’s island” and that there will be “sprinklings of content from the earliest seasons,” which seems to rule out some of Chapter 2’s memorable later themes, such as the Cube Era, when mysterious cubes flooded the island.

It also confirms that there will be a live event, with more information coming soon. As is often the case with Fortnite in-game events, this will likely take place the day before the new season starts, followed by a period of downtime, but we have yet to receive any official word on this.

Finally, Epic teases that the Chapter 2 remix “comes with a melodic twist.” As for what that might be, sources suggest that music producer and DJ Marshmello (who is known to have hosted the game’s first in-game concert) will be returning in some capacity for the pre-Chapter 2 event. Snoop Dogg has also been rumored and teased in the game in some capacity. Other than those potential cameos or new content appearing at the Fortnite Festival, I don’t know what else could be a “melodic twist”.

Although it has yet to be officially confirmed by Epic, Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is expected to launch on Saturday, November 2, with an in-game event preceding it on Friday, November 1. This is the time when the current battle pass expires.
