St. Andrews, Jamaica. Angry residents of St Andrew’s Olympic Way blocked the road for a second day on Monday following the alleged police killing of 19-year-old Jahaim Morrison and the serious wounding of another teenager on Saturday night.

On Sunday, residents blocked the road with garbage that they set on fire.

According to residents, around 11:00 p.m., the teenagers were riding a motorcycle along Dyatla Avenue in the community when the police chased them. The officers reportedly used their vehicle to knock the teenagers off the motorcycle before running over Morrison and crashing into a wall.

Residents of the Olympic Way are protesting against the alleged killing of a 19-year-old “Tiktoker” by the police.

Another teenager is reported to be in serious condition in hospital.

“They went to pay, but I don’t know why the police are interfering with them because he has a license and he’s just buying a bike,” Morrison’s father said.

“They never have to deal with it this way, they could have handled it more professionally, but they just chose to take the lives of two young people this way,” he said, adding that the teenagers were shot before being hit with bullets motorcycle.

Burning rubbish was used to block a road in Olympic Road as residents protested the alleged police killing of a 19-year-old ‘Tiktoker’.

Residents say the deceased was a quiet person who mostly spent time on the video-sharing platform TikTok.

They said it was the second alleged police killing in the community in just over a year after a man was killed in May 2023. An independent commission of inquiry has launched an investigation into the incident.
