A trio of former Texas players find the end zone

All 32 NFL teams played during Week 8 of the season, and 14 former Texas players had significant stats for their respective teams.

Starting the game at 12:00 PM ET, defensive end Quandre Diggs was second on the Tennessee Titans defense with seven tackles on the day, while defensive end T’Vondre Sweet also added four tackles. Unfortunately, that didn’t help the Titans much as they lost 52-14 to the Detroit Lions and fell to 1-6.

A Texas legend Bijan Robinson had another amazing game for the Atlanta Falcons, who now look like a dangerous threat in the NFC. Robinson carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards and had six catches for 37 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown helped the Falcons to a 31-26 win over the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers and move to 5-3.

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker missed a field goal in a disappointing 29-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns, but still hit a 49-yarder.

On the other sideline, running back D’Onta Foreman had five carries for 26 yards. Also of note, tight end Jeff Swaim had his first reception of the season for seven yards on National Tight End Day.

The Los Angeles Chargers dominated the New Orleans Saints 26-8 to move to 4-3. The Longhorns duo helped with that on both ends of the field. Defensive tackle Poona Ford had a sack as well as two tackles and kicker Cameron Dicker made both of his field goals, one from 46 out and the other from 29 out.

Move to Seattle, defenseman Seahawks Byron Murphy II had four receptions on the day, but the Buffalo Bills dominated the game, winning 31-10 and moving Murphy II and Seattle to 4-4 after a 2-0 start.

Although the Chicago Bears lost to the Washington Commanders in the game-clinching game, running back Roshawn Johnson did have the game-winning touchdown at the time with 25 seconds left to give the Bears a 15-12 victory. Chicago moves to 4-3.

The Denver Broncos continue their impressive start to the season with a 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers to improve to 5-3. Defender Brandon Jones played a huge role in that. He led the team in tackles with 12 on the day. Receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey also added 22 yards through the air on four receptions.

Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy continues his emergence as a dangerous wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. Worthy completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to give Kansas City a 27-13 lead over the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth. The Chiefs held on to win 27-20 and remain undefeated at 7-0. Worthy was second on the team with 37 yards on four receptions.

Finally, on Sunday Night Football, DeMarvion Overshawn did everything he could to help the Dallas Cowboys finally beat the San Francisco 49ers. Overshawn finished with eight tackles, including a sack, but the 49ers still won 30-24, moving Dallas to 3-4 on the season.

One former Longhorn will be featured on Monday Night Football, and that will be Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end DeSean Elliott. The Steelers play the New York Giants at 7:15 on ABC.
