Firefighters respond to a house fire in Conemaugh Township

CONEMO TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Emergency crews responded to a house fire this morning on Truman Boulevard in Conemaugh Township, quickly securing the scene and containing the flames to the structure.

Fire Chief William Scherer said the call came in at exactly 8:30 a.m. First responders from the Cover Hill, Franklin, Conemaugh and West Hills fire departments arrived to find flames coming from the rear of the building on the second and third floors. . A second alarm was sounded, drawing additional support from Oakland and the town of Johnstown.

Fortunately, all residents were out of the house when firefighters arrived. One person received minor injuries and received medical assistance. Chief Scherer confirmed that there were no injuries among the firefighters.

Crews acted quickly, attacking the fire and restoring the water supply. As of 10:00 a.m., firefighters continued to extinguish the fire, but nearby houses and the bush remained undamaged.

The fire is still under investigation, and the fire department is expected to examine the scene to determine its cause.
