Republicans fumed at Tim Waltz for comparing Trump’s MSG rally to a Nazi event

Republicans criticized Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Waltz for comparing Sunday to former President Donald Trump Madison Square Garden rally to the infamous pro-Nazi event that took place on the site of the arena 85 years ago.

“Donald Trump organized this big rally at Madison Square Garden,” Walz said during a stop in Henderson, Nevada, on his “Fight for Reproductive Freedom” bus tour. “There is a direct parallel to the great one a rally held in the 1930s at Madison Square Garden.

The Trump campaign and the Republican Party were quick to denounce the comparison.

“I was there last night and saw thousands of patriotic Americans of all races, religions and creeds. Tim Walz should apologize to them.” placed Congressman Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) on X.

“Tim Waltz’s vilification of tens of thousands of Americans as Nazis, including Holocaust survivors, is more offensive than any joke.” added Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.).

“Comparing President Trump, who has Jewish children and grandchildren, to Hitler is shameful and trivializes the Holocaust,” thundered the Republican Jewish Coalition in a statement. “To attack Trump supporters as fascists is a disgrace.

“If Donald Trump was as dangerous as Kamala Harris and Tim Walz hysterically claim he is, Democrats Alyssa Slotkin, Tammy Baldwin and Bob Casey wouldn’t advertise himand Those who survived the Holocaust would not praise it“, RJC continued. “Even the mayor of New York, where today’s rally is being held, a Democrat, rejected these outrageous statements of Kamala Harris.”

“This reeks of desperation from a failed election campaign,” the coalition concluded.

Left-leaning networks like MSNBC have leaned into the comparison fusion of personnel from the hate rally of 1939 of the German-American Bund with videos of Trump supporters.

The Harris campaign blasted Trump, 78, for expressing admiration for “fascists” like Hitler, and fueled press coverage of Sunday’s rally with offensive remarks and a crude joke by a comedian who described Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”

On Friday, a Holocaust survivor — who attended a rally in Madison Square Garden — blasted Harris and her campaign for comparing Trump and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“Adolf Hitler attacked Poland when I was 9 years old. He killed my parents and most of my family,” said 94-year-old Jerry Wartsky video first obtained by The Post.

“I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes,” Wartsky continued, rolling up the left sleeve of his collared shirt to reveal his Auschwitz prisoner number.

When asked if American Jews should support Trump in 2024, Wartsky quickly responded, “He’s the man.”

“I think President Trump will definitely be good for Israel because everything he has done so far has been in (his) favor,” he said. “He always supported the Jewish people and the state of Israel.”

“I was there last night and saw thousands of patriotic Americans of all races, religions and creeds. Tim Walz should apologize to them,” said Congressman Mike Walz (R-Fla.). Stephen Young

Wartsky also said that Harris “owes my parents and everyone else who was killed by Hitler an apology for repeating this lie.”

The minor later attended a rally at Madison Square Garden, double thumb in honor of Trump when he was photographed.

The modern incarnation of Madison Square Garden opened in 1968, replacing the site of the 1939 rally. In 1976, 1980 and 1992, the national conventions of the Democratic Party were held.

Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton also said last week that the former president’s campaign will “reenact the 1939 Madison Square Garden rally.”

“The Kamala Harris campaign is copying Hillary Clinton’s strategy of attacking half the country,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said.

“Tim Walz should apologize for his disgraceful comments that discredit Trump supporters. Such rhetoric has already inspired assassination attempts.”

The Harris-Walz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
