Netflix is adding a new feature that makes it easy to share clips from shows on social media

Netflix may have made the decision to hand over passwords, but the streaming giant is now using clip sharing with a new branding campaign.

Netflix says it is launching a new product feature called Moments on Monday that will allow users to quickly save their favorite moments from Netflix shows and movies. Users can then view those moments at a glance or share them on platforms like Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook with a single click.

When a user shares a clip on another platform, anyone who follows them can click on their post and immediately go to that scene in their own Netflix app.

Moments is made for mobile devices and is available now for Apple iOS and in the next few weeks for Android. Users who want to save a scene can simply tap “moments” at the bottom of the screen and it will be saved to their My Netflix tab. Users can go back to watching the moment at any time, and if they restart the episode, it will start from that scene.

But perhaps the most notable feature of Moments is the ability to quickly and seamlessly share that scene with other social platforms. It’s a move aimed at encouraging chatter and talk about Netflix shows to fuel water cooler conversations.

The Moments feature also comes as Netflix launches a new brand ad campaign called It’s So Good. The campaign draws on Netflix pop culture moments, including Cardi B, Simone Biles and Giancarlo Esposito, who each share their favorite scenes from the Netflix show.
