PM ‘shocked’ by CCTV footage of Mike Amesbury MP hitman

The MP was first elected to the House of Commons in 2010, representing Weaver Vale.

At the last election he was elected to the reformed constituency of Runcorn and Helsby.

He was elected in the July general election with a majority of 14,696 votes.

A former shadow minister for housing, he is currently a member of two House of Commons committees – the Housing and Local Government Committee and the Modernization Committee.

In July 2023, the 56-year-old was found guilty of stalking and harassing Amesbury in his county and the city.

The Manchester-born MP is a former careers adviser and has worked with Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham.
