Details of the plot of the trilogy “23 YEARS LATER” have been revealed; Two movies already made

28 years later star Ralph Fiennes recently offered some new details about the trilogy of films it’s developing Danny Boyle and Alex Garland.

During a recent interview with IndieWireFiennes confirmed, “It’s three movies,” then revealed, “two of which have been shot.”

As for any plot details, the actor went on to say, “For 28 years, Britain has been going through this horrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid people with a few pockets of uninfected communities.

“At the center is a young man who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English countryside. But, of course, the infected are hiding around them in the woods, hills and forests.

“But he finds a doctor who we might think is weird and strange, but he’s actually a force for good.”

It also became known that the sequel has a title 28 Years Later, Part II: The Bone Templewhich Nia DaCosta was in talks to direct from Garland’s script earlier this year. No word on whether she ended up directing or not. However, I assume she did.

Cillian Murphy reprises his role 28 years later as Jim, a former bicycle courier who wakes up from an earlier coma to find that a “rabies virus” has destroyed London. He is also an executive producer.

A future sequel will also star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman and Edwin Riding.

Garland was offered earlier some understanding on the subject of the film. He shared, “It has to do with the passage of time and thinking about what effect the passage of time will have.”

He added: “Is this what you traditionally call a post-apocalyptic state? Or has something else started to manifest itself? Time is really the engine of the film.”

When earlier teasing the third film, Garland said, “I have a really cool idea for it, but it’s a much bigger movie, and one of the things about 28 days later it’s that she was small and punk, and this idea is less small and punk.”

Movie stars Jodie Comer, Cillian Murphy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connelland Ralph Fiennes . The Marvels director Nia DaCosta is negotiating the shooting of the second film.

28 years later will be released in theaters on June 20, 2025 by Sony. It was before reported that the film was shot on iPhone 15 Pro.
