Footage of moments before Sinwar’s assassination released by IDF – Israel News

New footage and recordings released by the IDF on Monday show moments before the former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was eliminated in Tel Sultan in Rafah, in the south Gaza Strip.

“One additional ‘dirty’ one eliminated,” the soldier is heard saying the code word for the terrorists.

“The terrorist on the first floor, wrapped in a blanket,” the soldier further describes the terrorist, noting, “he is still alive among us.”

“The extra terrorist soldier we just saw,” the soldier can be heard explaining, “is dead. So, three for now,” the soldier counted.

“One escaped with a Kalashnikov assault rifle, all others with grenades,” the soldier added.

In a video released by the military, a soldier can be heard yelling, “There’s a grenade,” followed by a gunshot and someone saying, “Eliminated.”

Liquidation of Sinwar

Sinwar was liquidated The IDF earlier this month during an unplanned operation at Tel Sultan in Rafah after troops from the 828th Bislach Brigade identified three suspicious individuals entering and exiting the building.

After the fire from the troops, the figures separated and the person, later revealed to be Sinwar, entered the building separately.

An IDF tank hit the structure in which the Sinwar was embedded, after which a drone was sent to assess the situation. Footage later released by the IDF showed a masked Sinwar attacking the drone with a stick.

The tank subsequently fired at the building again, after which troops awaited DNA testing to identify Sinwar.

Everything indicated that no hostages were killed during the operation.
