A Racine woman has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder

RAISIN. Mia White, who is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, pleaded not guilty Thursday at the Racine County Courthouse.

White, 35, is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder; one count of resisting or obstructing an officer; one count of possession of cocaine/coke; and one count of drug possession.

The homicide charge reflects that White allegedly acted in a domestic environment and used a dangerous weapon.

She is scheduled to appear at a status conference on January 17.

Accusation

Racine police officers were dispatched at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 2 to the 1300 block of LaSalle Street, according to earlier reports from the Journal Times. When they arrived, they saw a woman walking and then running away.

After the woman was taken into custody, police said she had what appeared to be blood on her hands and hoodie.

Police also reportedly found a substance that tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl in the woman’s sock and a bloody knife behind a nearby tree.

White allegedly told police that she and her boyfriend had been fighting and that he had “lashed out” at her. A medical examination revealed that White suffered a fractured orbital bone.
