A luxury BMW worth Rs 80 lakh was stolen from the parking lot of actress Shilpa Shetty’s fine dining restaurant, Bastian, in Dadar, shocking the people of Mumbai. The owner of the car, Bandra-based businessman Ruhan Khan, discovered the theft after leaving the restaurant and immediately filed an FIR at the Shivaji Park police station.

The incident happened around 2 a.m., shortly after Khan and his friends arrived at the restaurant. Khan handed the car keys to the valet, who parked the BMW Z4 convertible in the basement, assuming it would be safe. However, surveillance video later showed that minutes after the valet left, two people entered the basement in a Jeep Compass. Using advanced hacking techniques, they unlocked the BMW and then one suspect drove off in Khan’s car.

When the restaurant closed around 4 a.m., Khan asked a valet to bring his car, only to be told it wasn’t there. “He was shocked to learn that his car was missing from the parking lot,” the official said. After contacting the building staff with a request to review the CCTV footage, it was confirmed that unknown persons had taken the car.

After the discovery, Khan immediately informed the Shivaji Park police, who viewed the footage and began an investigation. Authorities are currently combing road surveillance cameras in the area to track the BMW’s movements and identify the suspects. The case was filed under Section 303(2) of the BNS Act, which qualifies it as a serious offence.

Expressing his concern, Khan questioned security measures at the high-end restaurant’s car park and called for better security measures. Police continue to analyze additional footage from nearby areas to locate the stolen vehicle and apprehend the culprits.
