Rigati Gachagua’s state security detail reinstated days after he raised security concerns

Nairobi – President William Ruto’s administration has reinstated part of sacked Deputy President Rigati Gachagua security detail.

Gachagua recently accused the president of putting him in danger after he allegedly ordered the release of DP security information.

However, on Sunday, October 27, during the church service in St. Jacob’s Cathedral ACK in Kiambu security was increased in the city of Gachagua.

Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa and a close DP ally who has been impeached confirmed the reinstatement of Gachagua’s security clearance.

In his tweet, Thang’wa called on the Kenya Kwanza administration to reinstate the impeached DP staff.

“The state has reinstated part of the security service of Vice President Rigati Gachagua. In the same spirit, I urge the government to take the next honorable step and reinstate its employees as well. Justice must not only be done, but also visible. Than’va said.

Earlier, the vice president was impeached criticized President William Ruto for ordering the withdrawal of his bodyguards.

Speaking on Sunday, October 20, after being discharged from the hospital, Gachagua criticized the president for denying him security despite helping him win the 2022 elections.

Gachagua said all his security details, including those guarding his home, had been removed.

Gachagua, who insisted he was still second in command, said that if anything happened to him family member, then the president must bear responsibility.
