Tonight is another cold day with chills among the teenagers

Weak upper-level obstructions will develop late tonight along with another blast of cold air. StormTracker 7 radar continues to show a few snow showers over parts of eastern Missouri and NW Kentucky, and some of that limited moisture will change our direction later this evening. Small flurries of snow are possible by the evening, no travel problems are expected. Skies will clear again late tonight with temperatures dropping to around 19 early Tuesday morning!

TODAY:

Widespread frost until 10 am. Otherwise, increasing cloudiness, with a maximum around 42-44. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Snow is possible in places in the afternoon and evening.

Pack up any time today as it will be cold even after lunch as the NW winds pick up around the time our high temperatures peak in the afternoon. The combination of increasing winds and cool highs below 40 degrees will make it feel pretty cold at any time.

TONIGHT:

Today is likely to be the coldest day of the cold snap. Tonight will begin with mostly cloudy skies, with some light snow possible early. The sky will begin to clear in the early hours of the night. Overnight lows will be in the upper twenties, with a light breeze bringing a wind chill to the lower twenties, possibly even the upper single digits. You’ll want to attend the Jackson Christmas Parade.

After a very cold start in the morning, widespread frost by 10am. Otherwise, it is sunny, the temperature is around 40. The wind is calm. Tuesday eveningWide frost after 19:00. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 24. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight. WednesdayA 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Widespread frost until 8 am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a high near 52. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Wednesday eveningA 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Frost in some places after 5 am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. The next day another bitter frost comes Thursday as highs only climb to 39 under mostly sunny skies. Thursday night will be another chilly night with a low of around 19C with a light frost Friday it will be mostly clear with highs only in the upper 30s again. The weekend will bring a warming trend with highs returning to the 50s both days, but a few light showers may start briefly as light freezing rain late Saturday. It doesn’t look like much of a problem at this point, as temperatures will stay above freezing through the weekend. We’ll keep an eye out for updates as we get closer to the weekend.
