The Prime Minister of Georgia rules out the possibility of negotiations with the opposition – statement – World

TBILISI, December 2. /TASS/. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Iraklii Kobakhidze, ruled out the possibility of negotiations with the opposition due to the current situation in the country.

“No, of course. No negotiations,” he said at a press conference, answering questions about it.

On November 28, a new wave of protests broke out in Georgia, triggered by Kobakhidze’s announcement that the ruling party had decided to postpone any talks about starting EU accession talks until the end of 2028 and to refuse any funding from the European Union. According to the prime minister, this decision was made after repeated attempts by the EU to blackmail Georgia with promises to start negotiations in exchange for Tbilisi’s cancellation of some laws adopted by the country’s parliament and calls for sanctions against the Georgian authorities.
