On Sunday, 414 new applications/registrations were made while 411 pending applications were cleared of deficiencies. In total, 113 applications were approved and 83 acts of transfer and power of attorney were executed in various unauthorized colonies. Lt. He also distributed title certificates to 40 beneficiaries and directed the DDA to expeditiously clear all 62,000 pending applications and dispose of new applications in a mission mode to benefit maximum number of people.

On Saxena’s direction, the DDA opened a camp for people living in unauthorized colonies in Delhi. The camps will be held every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29 at 10 processing centers located in these unauthorized colonies.

Speaking on the occasion, Saxena said, “Camps are not only conducted for old cases to clear the defects but new cases are also taken up. I urge people to come in large numbers and get their outstanding issues resolved as the government has come to their doorstep.” He said the PM-UDAY scheme was launched in Delhi with the Prime Minister’s commitment to provide property rights to people in unauthorized colonies and these camps would go a long way in clearing pending applications for the last few years.

West Delhi BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat was also present at the camp along with the LG and New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj was present at the Khirki Extension Malviya Nagar camp.

“Some of the services offered at these camps include issues related to issuance of transfer deed and authorization list, GIS survey, new registration and assistance with collateral and notarization. These camps are located in Burari, Najafgarh, Aya Nagar Ext, Karawal Nagar, Budh Vihar Colony, Nangloi, Khirki Extension Malviya Nagar and New Ashok Nagar,” said a senior DDA official.

Earlier this year, Saxena directed the DDA to keep the ten processing centers run by PM-UDAY open and functioning on all seven days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. “The step was aimed at speeding up the consideration of applications and ensuring the timely transfer of property rights to residents of PM-UDAI colonies. The Lt. Governor has received several messages from residents of PM-UDAY unauthorized colonies in this regard,” the statement said, adding that the scheme aims to provide ownership rights to residents of 1,731 unauthorized colonies in Delhi. The main purpose of this scheme is to provide legal recognition of residents’ ownership through the granting of title deeds.
