Viral YouTuber’s Video of ‘Zombie People’ on the Streets of San Francisco Sparks Internet Debate

YouTuber Ishan Sharma recently posted a video on social media showing “zombie people walking the streets” of San Francisco, highlighting the city’s ongoing problems with homelessness, drug addiction and public safety. The video has attracted a lot of attention online.

Sharma, who has more than 1.5 million followers on YouTube, uploaded the video on X with the caption: “My heart is breaking watching this. This is San Francisco. The technological capital of America. Home of the world’s brightest minds. AND the biggest technologies. companies”.

The footage shows people on the streets unconscious or struggling to move.

Describing San Francisco as “the most dangerous place” he had ever visited, Sharma wrote: “Half the streets are filled with homeless people, mentally unstable people, people under the influence of drugs or a combination of everything. These are ordinary people who walk the streets. Why is this not so? fix?”

The video sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many users discussing the city’s declining reputation as a tech hub. One commentator, Abhishek Shaw, stated: “No, it’s not a tech capital anymore; most of them have already moved to Austin, Texas.” Another user asked: “Why aren’t they in prisons or rehabs?” Others called the video a “reality check” and “scary”, while some speculated about the mental health of those depicted in the footage.

San Francisco’s homelessness crisis has been a topic of debate for years. Last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared his own experience, describing during an interview encounters with “brutal drug zombies” on city streets.
