(Society) Leaders of local fishing cooperatives lose dismissal lawsuit due to “unauthorized access to documents”

The head of a local fishing cooperative, who was fired after being caught looking at his disciplinary documents, filed a counterclaim but lost.

The Incheon District Court ruled against the plaintiff in an action brought by A, a former manager of a local fishing cooperative in Incheon, against the union president to invalidate a disciplinary dismissal.

The court decided that A should be exempted from disciplinary liability according to the standard table, stating that he had deliberately repeatedly entered another office to obtain relevant data during the disciplinary process.

Ah, who was sentenced to a fine of 5 million won in his first trial for illegal campaigning in 2021, sneaked into the office and checked various documents, knowing that the Korea Federation of Fishermen’s Cooperatives would check him if the final decision was made.

As a result of the audit, it was found that A. often entered the office before the incident and copied documents or asked for personal credit information, such as customers, and the local fishing cooperative issued a disciplinary dismissal, which is a severe punishment.
