Deadly Cybertruck crash in Piedmont: 3 teens dead the day before Thanksgiving

PIEDMONT, Calif. (KGO) — The three teenagers who died in a crash in Piedmont on Wednesday have been identified.

The victims, all college students, have been identified as Soren Dixon, Krista Tsukahara and Jack Nelson.

A community gathered in Piedmont to honor the memory of three teenagers who were killed in a cybertruck crash the day before Thanksgiving.

The fourth victim remains in hospital in serious condition.

A Tesla Cybertruck crashed and burst into flames early Wednesday morning at Hampton Roads and King Avenue.

Three young people were killed and one injured in a Cybertruck crash in Piedmont, police said. They were recent graduates of Piedmont High School.

They were all college students home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Authorities are still investigating the crash, but they believe the driver may have been speeding.

Each family released a statement sent by the city of Piedmont and the Piedmont Police Department.

Statement from Soren Dixon’s family

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son, brother and friend Soren Dixon. Soren had a boundless enthusiasm for life and was known for his infectious smile, love for family and friends, passion for sports and deep commitment. to all animals, especially his dog, Soren lit up a room, made friends easily, smiled and laughed often, and had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome. is appreciated
His kind, gentle soul touched everyone around him; he had a wide circle of friends and a close relationship with his brothers Colin and Aidan. He readily accepted challenges, whether in his studies or on the sports field – he was an ambitious, dedicated student and team player in sports and life. He will always be in our hearts and in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
Our family appreciates the outpouring of support and sympathy, but requests that all media inquiries and public attention be limited out of respect for our need to grieve privately. Thank you for your compassion, sensitivity and respect.”

Statement from the family of Krista Tsukahara

“We are devastated by the loss of Krista. Krista Tsukahara was a 2023 graduate of Piedmont High School and a sophomore at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She was known for her kind and compassionate heart, love for her family and friends, and her incredible eye for style and design, loved by her family and many friends and will be deeply missed.
The Tsukaharas thank our family, friends and neighbors for their support, but ask that the community respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Statement from the family of Jack Nelson

“Our family mourns the loss of our beautiful son and brother, Jack Nelson. Jack was always full of life and made a lasting impact on people with his kindness and joy. He was an exceptional athlete and loved the outdoors, often spending his free time on adventures from the ocean to the mountains.
Most of all, Jack cared deeply about others, was a loving and fiercely loyal friend, and had a strong faith that he proudly shared through the cross he wore daily. Jack will always be a part of our family. Although his time was too short, we are comforted by the fact that his memory will remain with all who knew him.
Our family is very grateful for the love and support we have received from our community. We are asking for the privacy and space we need to grieve our son and brother and will not be making any further statements. Thank you for respecting our wishes.”
