Several photos of the director Zoya Akhtar sitting down with actors Jacob Elordi and Andrew Garfield at an international event took the Internet by surprise. Zoe, Andrew Garfield and Jacob attended the Marrakesh International Film Festival in Morocco, which kicked off on Friday. Zoya, Andriy, Yakiv at the film festival

In the photo, Zoya was smiling while sitting on a sofa in a black outfit with a print. Andriy and Yakiv sat down on either side. For the event, Andrew wore an olive green shirt under a matching jacket and black pants. Jacob was seen wearing a white shirt under a black blazer and trousers. They were also spotted posing with other festival jury members.

The Internet reacted to the photo of the trio

Several people shared the photos on X (formerly Twitter). Someone wrote: “Zoya Akhtar chilling with Jacob Elordi and Andrew Garfield is killing me.” “Oh, sitting between Andrew Garfield and Jacob Elordi just like Zoya Akhtar sat between them at the Marrakesh International Film Festival,” the tweet read. “Jealous, jealous, super jealous of Zoe,” said another fan.

About the International Film Festival in Marrakech

The jury for the 21st edition, chaired by Luca Guadagnino, also included Ali Abbasi, Patricia Arquette, Virginie Efira, Nadia Cunda and Santiago Mitre. The event is one of the largest film festivals in the Middle East and North Africa.

The festival opened with the screening of the film “Order” – a thriller with Jude Law in the lead role, which tells the story of the FBI’s hunt for the leader of a white racist group. There are 14 first or second films in the jury competition. Among the films participating in the competition are “Beyond the Sea” by Said Hamich and “Under the Volcano” by Damian Kochura.

About Zoya’s projects

Zoya and Reema Kagti are working on a nine-episode documentary series called On the Road. The series is dedicated to transgender stories from India. They also co-produced the documentary Turtle Walker. It tells the story of Indian sea turtle conservation pioneer Satish Bhaskar, who has dedicated his life to protecting these beautiful but endangered animals. It premiered on November 17th at Doc NYC 2024.

Turtle Walker is written and directed by Tyra Malani. Produced by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Angad Dev Singh, Vikram Malani and Tyra Malani. Krish Mahija is assistant director and head of cinematography. The film was co-written and edited by Sam Rogers and executive produced by Isabelle Couture, James Reid, Jared Lipworth, Sean B. Carroll and Nikita Mamik.
