Sunny and lively this weekend in southern Colorado

Sunny and lively this weekend in southern Colorado

Forecast for today:
You’ll need all your layers this morning in the Pikes Peak region, with morning temperatures in the twenties and low 20s and a freezing wind making it feel even cooler. A weak cold front swept across the region this morning, bringing a chilly northerly wind. This will keep high temperatures similar to yesterday’s in the low to mid 40s. Medium to high energy will lead to intermittent medium to high clouds today and mountain breezes this morning at 15-25 mph (you’ll notice them if you’re heading through Woodland Park, for example). By noon, weak southerly winds will strengthen locally, which will help to warm up from the coolness outside.

Colorado Springs Forecast: High: 44; Low: 20.
A very cold start, but a nice day today! Sunny skies with a NW (cool) wind this morning, changing to a S this afternoon and remaining light.

Pueblo Forecast: High: 47; Low: 20.
Early today, the wind in the teens will change to a rather pleasant afternoon in the Steel City. Expect a moderate to light south wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Canon City Forecast: High: 49; Low: 28.
Sunny and cool, with a west wind 5 to 10 mph in the morning. A decent day outdoors for a small business on Saturday.

Woodland Park Forecast: High: 43; Low: 19.
No clouds in the overcast city today – just comfortable sun and a light westerly wind of 5-15 mph. You need a windproof layer for most of the day… even if the wind remains relatively light, temperatures will drop below 40 degrees throughout the day.

Tri-Lakes Forecast: High: the 40s; Low: Teenagers
Mostly sunny and pleasant, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Plain forecast: High: the 40s; Low: Teenagers/20 years old.
Sunny and cool – NW winds this morning and S winds this afternoon…expect a warming trend to begin as the winds shift to the S, but they will be light regardless, 5-15 mph.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: High: 49/50; Low: 27/25.
Sunny and quiet – not bad for the last day of November. Moderate west wind on the slope between 5 and 15 mph.

Mountain forecast: High: the 40s; Low: Teenagers/20 years old.
Quiet, but cool, especially on the northern and western slopes with elevations of 30-40 degrees. Otherwise, mostly sunny, occasionally cloudy.
Advanced forecast forecast:

The energy of the jet stream continues to flow over Colorado on Sunday, with a northwesterly flow and incoming high pressure leading to continued weak atmospheric wave action and a few high clouds at times, but you can still expect mostly sunny skies. Overall, it’s a warmer day than Saturday, with seasonal highs and relatively light winds off the mountains. You can expect more of the same for most of next week, with Tuesday being the better week for warmth as we pick up some SW flow downslope. A couple of dry cold fronts are all that’s on my radar right now, looking into the week ahead, which doesn’t look particularly prominent.

Enjoy a relatively quiet week!
