A man was found shot in the city center

A man was shot in downtown San Jose early Sunday morning, marking the city 26th murder this yearthe police said.

At approximately 2:38 a.m., officers responded to a report that a person had been shot in a parking lot in the 100 block of South Second Street, where they found the victim with at least one gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of officers and medical personnel, the man died at the scene.

Motives and circumstances of the event are being established, the police said.

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the man’s identity.
