MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi noted the importance of intensifying efforts to stabilize the situation in Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported following the ministerial telephone conversation.

“During the conversation, both sides expressed their extreme concern over the dangerous escalation of the situation in Syria in connection with the attack by terrorists of armed formations on the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. The resolute support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic was confirmed,” the message reads. reported in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The ministers agreed on the need to intensify joint efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Syria and an urgent comprehensive review of the situation within the framework of the Astana format,” the department added.

Both ministers expressed support for the actions of the Syrian government and army to stop the terrorist attack against the northern part of the country, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in turn.
