Authorities are asking for help finding a missing Rankin County teenager

RANKIN CO., Miss. (WLBT) – Authorities need your help finding a missing Hartfield Academy student.

John Michael Jones, 16, lives in Brandon, Mississippi.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office says the department received a report today that Jones was missing from his home.

According to the RCSO, there is currently no evidence of foul play.

The department says Jones struggled with depression after the deaths of his father and grandparents.

This caused his family to worry that he might be considering self-harm.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office has reached out to the Mississippi State Bureau of Investigation for assistance in issuing a Purple Alert.
