Christmas bonuses and thirteenth pay for Italian workers and pensioners

A total of 35.7 million Italians (16.2 million pensioners and 19.5 million workers) receive 59.3 billion euros in their thirteenth salary, but according to Cgia, 14.5 billion are taken by the tax authorities. Pensioners will be the first to receive it, followed by public and private employees in the following weeks. According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, 4.6 million employees will receive not only their thirteenth salary, but also a Christmas bonus of 100 euros net, which is only available to workers with medium and low incomes, especially those whose income does not exceed 28,000 euros and at least one dependent child. In addition, the gross tax on employment income must not exceed the relevant deductions (from work).
