Stealth is the largest crowd-funded company ever to take on the iconic Shreveport scene.

When Elect airing its third season in the spring of 2023, the final episode sees Peter (Shahar Isaac) walk on water to Jesus (Jonathan Rumi) in an epic yet heartfelt and moving scene.

“I’ve never actually been to Shreveport … we were looking at tanks all over the world, and there were very few tanks the size we needed,” producer Chris Juen explained in a recent interview with the Times.

Juen participated in many studio animations, visual effects and animation. He began his film career in 1997 at Sony Pictures, where he co-produced Cloudy, possible meatballs 2. He also co-produced the first one Cloudy, possible meatballs and Arthur Christmas.

He is also considered a producer of visual effects The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers and 2002 Spider-Man.

In 2015, he left Sony Pictures to found Out of Order Studios with Chad Gundersen, who also produces Elect.

This scene was filmed at the Louisiana Wave Studio, a unique state-of-the-art computerized wave-making facility in Shreveport. It is designed to create a variety of water effects for production. Movies like The Guardian and Noah were filmed in this tank.

The Louisiana Wave Studio can hold up to 75,000 gallons of water and create waves up to 10 feet high.

At the time the scene was filmed, the world was still dealing with the effects of COVID, so traveling overseas with the tank was out of the question, but Juen says the more they looked at the tank in Shreveport, it was a perfect fit, except the renovations had just begun. The 180 degree blue screen walls have just been demolished.

They appeared five days before filming, and the walls were not completed. The day before filming, when creator Dallas Jenkins and the cast arrived in Shreveport, they were still finishing up the blue screens, but everything came together on time.

“The team in Shreveport on the tank was great, supportive; I mean, for such an undertaking and under such secrecy, it was a really smooth shoot,” Huyen explained.

Shooting is quiet

The water-walking scene involved significant visual impact, so Jenkins wanted to keep this a secret from the audience.

Juen said the project was completely under wraps, explaining that it was the first time they had received edited scripts.

He explained that most of the crew was brought in to keep the filming secret, but they brought in some local crew to boost the production, such as the local scuba diving crew for safety.

According to Huen, from the beginning, Jenkins never wanted to focus on the visual aspect of filming, but rather on the intimacy of the character. “He never wants to focus on the visual effect,” Huen said. “How water is turned into wine. It’s not really part of the story. You know, it’s like less.”

Even though the scene has an epic effect, Juen said Jenkins kept the show intimate. “I like to say that it was a scene between Simon and Jesus; it just happened on the water,” he said.

June didn’t give any spoilers about Season 5, but said, “If you’ve read your Bible, you know where we’re going.”
