Bala denies claims he has been married four times – The Week

Actor Bala, 41, recently made headlines for his marriage to his cousin Kokila, 24, the daughter of his maternal uncle. The couple got married on October 23 at the Kalur Pavakulam temple. According to various reports, it was suggested that Kokila was his fourth marriage, a claim he denied.

Talking to Manorama onlinethe actor claimed that he was married only twice, stating that he married his first wife Chandana at the age of 21. “Chandana was the girl I fell in love with when I was in school. We went to a temple and there was a ceremony but it wasn’t a real marriage we didn’t want her to marry someone else and in our immaturity we eventually broke up we couldn’t stay together I’m still friends with Chandana and now she lives happily with her husband in America.”

Bala said it was “absurd” that people thought his marriage to Kokila was the fourth time he had married. “Do people believe that I have been married four times? This is absurd. Legally, my second wife is Kokila. Chandana and Kokila were talking to each other and I was only 21 years old when I got married. I even spoke to my ex-wife about it and that marriage was eventually annulled,” he said.

The Great B The actor also denied claims that he married Elizabeth Udayan, who was allegedly his third wife. “I was never legally married to Elizabeth and I don’t want to go into any details about her. I hope she’s doing well in life. She helped me when I was in hospital and I’m grateful for that, she’s really wonderful person and I wish her all the best.”

Bala did not mention songwriter Amruta Suresh, with whom he has a 12-year-old daughter, Avantika, in the interview. The actor was arrested last month on a complaint filed by Amruta and charged under Sections 74 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deal with insulting the modesty of a woman.

Besides, the actor was also booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act after Avantika posted an emotional video on Instagram detailing the abuse of her family by her father. Bala was granted conditional bail a few hours after his arrest.
