Edmonton police are looking for an armed store robber

Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store in southwest Edmonton last weekend.

A man robbed a convenience store near 119th Street and 40th Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Edmonton Police said.

“As seen on surveillance video, the suspect pointed a gun at a lone store clerk and went behind the store counter, then filled three trash bags with cigarettes and cash from the cash register and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction,” EPS wrote. release on Friday.

Police say he is between 16 and 20 years old, 5’9″ tall, with a slim build and curly black hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, gray trainers, black gloves and a white medical mask.

The thief had a black or gray gun, EPS reports.

Aspen Gardens, Royal Gardens and Greenfield residents are being asked to check their cars and home cameras from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m.

“We are hoping that members of the community can provide us with video footage from November 23rd that will help us identify this suspect,” said Det. Troy Seguin. “If you have footage of suspicious activity, contact us immediately. “
