I Can Dance With Amy And Lauren But There’s Another Reason My Wife Is So Jealous, Says Beloved JB Gill

HE holds a number of dance floors, regularly tops the Strictly leaderboard and has a good chance of winning the famous Glitterball trophy.

but J. B. Hill most impressed by the fact that he almost lost 2nd place during the dance a BBC show.

The JLS singer was tested — first with Amy Dowden, then with Lauren

Over the past three months in JLS the singer went through his steps — first with Amy Dowdenthen with Lauren Oakley — and as a result lost weight at an extraordinary speed.

But JB’s slim new figure hasn’t gone down as well as you might expect with his wife of ten years.

He laughed: “I’m already getting my neck from Chloe, she’s just so jealous!

“All my pants are too big. To be honest, this is actually a joke. I went on It Takes Two this week and my pants are a regular 34, which is my normal size. . . I could get my fist between my thigh and my pants. This is funny.

“I’m probably 32 or less now. I haven’t been 32 since I was in school. That’s how bad it is”

37-year-old star weight loss this is due to the fact that since September he has been training for more than ten hours every day in rehearsals

But even though he entered tonight’s quarter-final as one of the favorites to win, it’s safe to say that JB’s journey to the BBC dance show has been far from easy.

He started out paired with Welsh beauty Amy Dowden, who kept her coming back to the dance floor after completing chemotherapy for breast cancer.

Stress fracture

But in the sixth week of the competition, she was injured stress fracture of the tibia and she had to leave and fellow pro Lauren took her place.

The two dancers worked around the clock to make sure Lauren was up to speed on how JB was doing in the rehearsal room.

They even set up a WhatsApp group to ‘pass it on’.

Lauren said: “Obviously when you’re standing in for someone you feel like you don’t want to step on anyone’s toes. But Amy was very supportive. We were very communicative and both of our goals were to do what was best for JB.

“I focused on making the transition as smooth as possible. And at that point, Amy had already been working with JB for six weeks. She knew his strengths. So this show was really helpful for me because all the other couples had already figured out their teaching style and what they were good at.”

The hard work certainly paid off.

Ever since Lauren stepped in, JB has seen his scores soar with the judges.

In their first week together, they scored a near-perfect 39 on their pairings.

And they picked up another four tens from the Strictly judges and even won the sambathon last weekend.

It’s a real twist as JB was at the dance the week before Amy left the show when the judges sent the football player Paul Merson packaging instead.

So does he feel like he went from zero to hero?

JB said with a laugh, “Yes! It was just great for me to express myself musically.

“I think that was actually a turning point — just being able to have a routine that maybe complimented me and my style a little bit more.

“I really enjoyed dancing. It mattered.”

And with the ultimate finale just two weeks away, the star is now aiming to be a contender for the glittering crown.

He is no stranger to the finals of the talent show, having taken second place against JLS Alexander Burke in 2008 The X Factor final.

Now he hopes to go one better and finally take home the title – even if he is not the bookies’ favorite to triumph.

The singer said: “You have to look at the prize because you have to be in it to win it.

“In any final, sometimes the underdogs can go and win.

“All we can do is do our best and make sure our procedures are the best we can follow them — the rest is up to people power.

“It’s a bit different to The X Factor because I think coming second was probably the right decision for us at the time, even though we were desperate to win.

“I think it’s definitely helped our JLS career, but I still have a career — just like everyone else on the show.

“Winning Strictly would really be the icing on the cake. We’ve worked incredibly hard and we’ve also been through challenges.

“If you can go all the way and pick up the trophy, it’s an incredible achievement for all your hard work.”

One person who knows what it’s like to win is JB’s former X Factor rival Alexandra Burke, who also made it to the final of Strictly in 2017.

The couple had been friends for 16 years, and she supported him the whole time.

Fierce competition

He said: “From the beginning she was incredibly supportive and just said, ‘Just do it, work hard, do your best.’ The final is something unique and you just have to focus on what you’re doing.”

“I think it’s just zoning into it. And show all the best and work hard.”

JB has stiff competition from the likes of blind comics Chris McCausland47, who is the bookies’ favorite to win.

And a reality show star Pete WeeksThe 36-year-old surprised everyone by remaining in the competition, although he almost always ends up at the end of the leaderboard.

Pete even revealed that he received death threats because he managed to avoid dancing.

But JB says the reality star, who is a close friend, is exactly what Strictly is all about and if he makes it to the final, he deserves his chance at the trophy.

JB said: “This show is about someone like him who has no dance experience at all who comes in and learns something and you really see a real improvement every week, so more power to him.”

The body goes through a lot, but I didn’t have any serious injuries – touch wood. I did everything
ice baths and cryotherapy and taking ginger

Despite the apparent friendship between the competitors, JB has gone out of his way to make sure he triumphs on Strictly.

In addition to knocking off ginger portions, he froze his own glitter balls in ice baths andcryotherapy camera

JB explained: “The body goes through a lot. Last week my hamstring was a little sore.

“But to be honest, we have such a great team around us. There is a great team of physiologists and so on.

“I wasn’t seriously injured — touch wood. I did all the ice baths and cryotherapy. Whatever you can do, you will do.

“We make ginger portions. We have our own juices. You have to fuel your body well and try to rest as much as possible and I think we’re doing well so far.”

Tonight, JB will take part in Music Week and perform the Viennese Waltz to Let’s Fly a Kite from Mary Poppins.

And his time on Strictly gave him the bug to try something different outside his comfort zone.

Now he’s thinking about swapping the ballroom for treading the boards in the West End.

He said, “You know Craig Revel Horwood one week said that I will become a showman.

“Yeah, listen, I’m definitely going to the West End!”

But first he needs to conquer the dance floor before he can fully take the stage.
