Sabrina Ullman: Stormy Black Friday

Sabrina Ullman: Stormy Black Friday

Today it will be cloudy, gusty northwest wind.

Black Friday began with chilly weather conditions, with temperatures below freezing and wind chills. Temperatures will be in the low 20s this afternoon. Gusty northwesterly winds will make things feel colder and produce lake-like snow along the south coast over the weekend.

A winter storm warning has been issued for UP until 6 a.m. Saturday. A winter weather advisory is also in effect for Bayfield and Iron counties during this period.

In addition to the lake-effect snow near the big lake, there will be accumulations of 1-3 inches downwind of the inland lakes in far northern St. Louis County. A winter weather warning is in effect for the area until noon today.

Tonight will be windy in the single digits. Temperatures will stay in the freezing cold on Saturday, only reaching the teens. Starting Sunday, we’ll have a few days with highs in the low 20s.
