A Bengaluru man who killed a vlogger’s girlfriend was arrested for 2 days

Bengaluru police have arrested a man accused of murdering his vlogger girlfriend and spending two days with her corpse in his office apartment. The victim, vlogger Maya Gogoi from Assam, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend Aarav Hanoi from Kannur in Kerala earlier this week.

After committing the crime, Aarav reportedly fled Karnataka, leading to a manhunt across the state border. He was arrested outside the state of Karnataka, but the exact location is yet to be disclosed.

Police have reportedly traced Aarav with the help of CCTV footage. Earlier, the police had seized footage from the flat showing Aarav and his girlfriend moving in together.

According to reports, Maya moved to Bengaluru only six months ago. At first she stayed with her sister and a friend in Whitefield. However, she moved to Jayanagar only 20 days ago after reportedly getting a job with a private firm in the area.

Earlier, about the murder, the chief medical officer of Bengaluru, D. Devaraja said, “We have received information that there is some foul odor coming from a room in an office flat in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Our officers and a team of forensic experts attended and found the woman’s body on the bed. A case of murder has been registered at the Indiranagar police station after verification.”

According to him, Aarav along with his girlfriend checked into the service apartment on November 23 and left the apartment on November 26. It is reported that the man spent two days smoking next to the corpse.

The police also reported that several knife marks were found on her body.
