The famine destroys two colonies in Meharban districts, Kania

Times News Network
Ludhiana: The Greater Ludhiana Development Authority (Hlada) officials demolished two unauthorized colonies on Thursday. Demolition in Meharban and Kaniya districts was carried out with the dismantling of roads, fence walls, passages, sewage wells and ongoing illegal buildings and structures in these areas.
When the developers did not stop the illegal construction work despite the notice, a task force carried out the demolition, which went unopposed. To check the growth of illegal colonies in its infancy, Glada is planning more such events in the coming weeks. Glada Chief Administrator Harpreet Singh said a special drive has also been launched to take punitive action against those fleeing innocent residents on the pretext of offering cheaper plots in these unauthorized colonies “which have no legal sanction and do not comply with government norms”.
