OCEAN CITY — A firefighter barely made it off a second-story deck going down the bank after an exploding propane tank turned a raging fire into a dire situation.

The fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Ocean City Firefighters Association.

Two people were trapped under the rubble on the second-floor balcony of a duplex at the corner of 16th and West avenues.

Ocean City police were the first to get there and helped them get to safety before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters, who arrived shortly after, went inside the home to see if anyone was still trapped. However, the flames quickly grew, and firefighters were ordered to quickly put out.

One firefighter was on a second-floor balcony when a propane tank exploded.
