Patriots rookie WR had ‘hiccup’ on trip to London (report)

FOXBORO — Some new details have come to light New England a trip abroad.

According to ESPN’s Mike Rice, rookie Javon Baker struggled with the team’s schedule while overseas.

“Before the Patriots can trust rookie wide receiver Javon Baker, the fourth-round pick out of Central Florida needs to earn more trust,” Reiss wrote. “Baker suffered a ‘hiccup’ in London last week when he reached at least one part of the team’s route, according to a team source, and was inactive for the third straight game.”

The Patriots listed Baker as questionable with an illness against the Jaguars — he missed Friday’s practice — and ended up inactive for the game. The rookie hasn’t played a single game since Week 3.

This could also explain KJ Osbourne’s strange weekend.

After passing in London, Osborne shared an impressive message on Instagram about the week leading up to it.

The post Osborne shared was from a friend, agent Brandon Abdala. It said Osborne was told he would be inactive last Wednesday, got three reps during the week at practice and then learned he would play against the Jaguars at 11pm on Saturday night. in Patriots locker room on Wednesday afternoon, Osborne verified the truth of the report.

“Everything I said was accurate, but as far as this situation is concerned, it’s been settled,” Osborne said. “I’ll leave the rest at home, but that was for sure.”

Here’s the full Instagram message Osbourne posted on Monday:

Abdala: “To be proud of you is an understatement! From being told you will be inactive on Wednesday and only doing 3 reps for the week in practice… to being told you are activated at 11pm on Saturday night! And take part in the game in a different position.. across the world in London!! You kept your composure and did what a professional does. You are a true professional K. I love you with all my K. Never change yourself! You are truly special. God always encouraged us to stay and work. I’m with you while we figure this and other situations out, regardless, you can count on me until the end.”
