Police say dozens of shots rang out in deadly shooting outside a smokehouse in North Philadelphia

A man has died after he was shot outside a vape shop in north Philadelphia late Saturday night.

A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times after leaving the Culebra II Smoke & Vape Shop along the 3600 block of North 5th Street and was pronounced dead at the scene just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 26, Philadelphia police said. .

Inspector DF Pace said the victim was approached by three or four men and shot several times at close range, although police do not yet know how many of the men were armed. The suspects fled the scene before possibly jumping into a gray Honda, Pace said.

At least 36 shell casings were found at the scene, Pace said, and a vehicle and a nearby home also sustained gunshot damage. Investigators reported that they are establishing the motive for the shooting.
