Dublin Marathon continues: Colin Farrell spotted among 20,000 runners – The Irish Times

More than 20,000 runners took to the streets of Dublin on Sunday morning for the Dublin Marathon.

The race started at 8.45am on Leeson Street Lower with the actor Colin Farrell noticed among the participants.

The route runs through the city center before crossing the River Liffey at Heuston Station and passing through Stoneybatter, North Circular Rd and on to Phoenix Park.

It will then cross the river again, head down South County Road and Dolphin’s Barn and on through the suburbs before the finish line at Mount Street Upper.

While the top athletes will complete their race before 11am, the grueling event will continue for several hours after that, with some runners unlikely to cross the finish line until closer to 5pm.

During the event, a large number of roads are closed throughout the city. You can find a full list of them here.

The weather is likely to be a mix of sunshine and showers for most of the weekend, with more rain from the west during Sunday afternoon.
