Two men in their 30s killed and three others hospitalized in horror crash in Donegal

TWO men in their 30s have died in a horrific road crash in Co Donegal.

Three others were also taken to hospital after the incident.

Police and emergency services attended the scene of a two-car collision near Castlefinn, Co Donegal, last night.

The crash happened at around 10pm on the N15 in Liscul.

As a result of the accident, two men in their 30s were fatally injured. Both were traveling in the same car.

A man and a woman, aged in their 70s, in the second car were rushed to Letterkenny Hospital for treatment with serious injuries.

Another woman, in her 30s, was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic accident near Castlefinn, Co. Donegal last night, Friday 22nd November 2024.

“The collision involving two cars happened on the N15 in Liscoole at approximately 10pm.

“Two men (30 years old) from one of these cars were fatally injured.

“A woman and a man (both in their 70s) from the second car were taken to Letterkenny Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The second woman (in her 30s) was treated for non-life threatening injuries.”

The road remains closed this morning for a technical examination by Garda forensic investigators.

Local diversions were introduced.

Gardai said: “The road remains closed this morning pending a technical examination by Garda forensic investigators. Local detours are in effect.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, especially those with CCTV footage, to come forward.

They said: “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have footage from cameras (including dash cams) who were driving in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Garda Confidential Line on (074) 916 7100 on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
