A man has pleaded guilty to a shooting at an Oak Park mall in 2023

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man accused of shooting at an Oak Park mall in November 2023 has pleaded guilty.

Neri Alberto Gonzalez-Muñoz was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of theft.

Police reported a shooting inside Oak Park Mall occurred on November 13, 2023, after undercover officers identified Gonzalez-Muñoz and another individual as suspects in a shoplifting incident. The officers said Gonzalez-Muñoz grabbed the undercover officer’s gun and fired.

He will be sentenced on February 10, 2025.
