A Rapid City woman has pleaded not guilty to hit-and-run

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – A Rapid City woman charged with hit and run resulting in death or injury was arraigned Tuesday morning.

Nikki Marquez, 28, who is not currently in custody, pleaded not guilty this morning in 7th District Court to charges related to hit-and-run resulting in death or injury. Marquez, the driver at the time of the incident, fled the scene, injuring the man.

She now faces up to two years in prison for the hit-and-run, with a possible additional five years for previous felony charges, including simple assault on a police officer and drug offenses.

A hearing on Marquez’s status is scheduled for January 7.
