This morning is the coldest air of the season, but there is a multi-day warming trend ahead

An arctic blast this morning with the coldest air of the season leads to mid-teens morning chills in the Pikes Peak region…and near 0 in higher elevations like Woodland Park and Monument. But the cold is short-lived. High pressure will be in place today, which will bring good warmth throughout the day with mostly sunny skies. The maximum temperature today will be about 5 degrees below average for this time of year.

Advanced forecast forecast:

A large wave of high pressure is in store for the next few days, bringing calm weather and high warming. Thursday will be near average, Friday in the upper 50s with breezy hills, Saturday in the mid 60s with breezy (slope) for everyone, and Sunday in the high 60s…with more wind. All in all, this means you’re in for a good weekend with calm weather and above average temperatures. But if you’re going to the ski slopes, it’s a bit of a different story. Snowfall will arrive in our central and western mountains Sunday afternoon, which could lead to difficult travel conditions. Snow will remain in the mountains on Monday. Locally on Monday, we will see a cold front that will bring temperatures back to a seasonal level ahead of more active weather heading into Thanksgiving.
