Texas girl Alexis Pinto, who shot and killed her boyfriend, is out on bail

A crazy jealous girlfriend who shot her boyfriend in a Texas field until she ran out of ammunition has been released from prison, leaving her ex fearing for his life.

Alexis Pinto, 23, is accused of luring her boyfriend to a secluded spot on Houston’s south side where the couple were watching the sunset, only for her to pull out a gun and open fire on September 5.

Elvis Munoz has recalled the terrifying moment his then-girlfriend started shooting at him as he was hit in both arms, stomach and chest as his death “had to be quick”.

Pinto, who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member, was initially booked into the Harris County Jail on $75,000 bond.

Two months after her arrest, a Houston judge lowered her bond to $10,000, which was posted, and Pinto was released from jail on Nov. 15, according to court documents seen by The Post.

The shock release prompted Munoz to criticize the justice system for releasing his ex-girlfriend just months after she allegedly tried to kill him.

“You’re willing to take care of someone and love them so much for three years, and have them pay you with bullets, try to take your life.” – Munoz told KHOU.

Munoz, who worked as a mechanic before the shooting, now has limited movement in his hands.

“I took a few shots. I fought for my life for hours,” he added.

“I’m angry that the system is not doing its part,” Munoz’s sister, Ana Fernandez, told the paper. “Because someone said she had a mental illness.”

According to the form signed by Harris County Judge Sharon Chu on Sept. 21, Pinto was found to be “mentally ill or mentally retarded.”

Her frustration with Munoz began the same day, Sept. 5, when a customer dropped off a car for Munoz to fix, much to Pinto’s annoyance.

“(Pinto) was angry and tried to hit (Munoz), which resulted in him grabbing her wrist and telling her to calm down,” the charging documents allege.

Pinto allegedly tried to push one of the couple’s dogs to get her into the house before she asked Munoz to take her to watch the sunset.

When the pair reached a field near State Highway 288 and Airport Boulevard, Pinto reportedly ran out of the car as Munoz yelled, “Baby, baby.”

“Teach me how to hunt deer, do you really think I’m going to come here to hunt deer?” Fuck you. What the hell is wrong with you doing this to me! Stupid ass,” Pinto allegedly said as the pair stood five feet apart.

Munoz asked what Pinto was talking about before she pulled out a gun and started shooting him, hitting him in the chest.

Pinto, who was reportedly holding the gun in a “titled manner,” continued to yell abuse at Munoz as both of his arms were struck.

“Then I felt a blow on my left hand,” Munoz told KHOU. “Like I just felt my hand get hot. I ran, holding my chest and stomach.”

Munoz says he tried to run away, clutching his chest, but tripped and fell, lying on the ground in pain and bleeding.

“Oh my God, it’s not my time, what did I do, what did I do,” Munoz said, according to the affidavit.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that. I didn’t shoot you in those places,” Munoz recalled Pinto saying as she stood over him. “I didn’t mean to do this to you. It had to be quick.”

Pinto fired directly at Munoz’s face, but was reportedly blocked with his hands.

When Pinto ran out of ammunition, Munoz convinced his ex to call him for help. She drove him to the gas station while she talked to her father on the phone.

“Told her I loved her and I still wanted to be with her, I wanted to grow up with her, have kids with her and just trying to get into her head to convince her to help me.” Munoz told KPRC.

An ambulance met the couple at a gas station three and a half miles from the scene of the shooting.

Pinto has been described as “jealous and controlling” and someone who “holds a grudge”. Alexis Pinto / Facebook

Munoz was taken to a hospital where he underwent several surgeries, including one to remove a bullet from his chest the day she was released from jail.

“She will be jealous, controlling, isolating me from family and friends. She holds a grudge,” Munoz said.

Pinto’s bail conditions prevent her from being around Munoz or his family, and she must wear an ankle monitor.
