Uttar Pradesh Elections: Two parties clash during polling

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A clash between two sides took place near Kakaroli village during Mirapur by-election in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

According to Muzaffarnagar SSP, Abhishek Singh confirmed the incident and said that peace has been restored and voting is going on freely and fairly.
“During the Mirapur assembly by-elections, a clash took place between two parties near Kakaroli village of Kakaroli police station in Kakaroli district. Police immediately reached the spot and chased everyone out using force. The place is calm and voting is taking place in a free and fair manner.” , – stated in the SSP.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) alleged on social media platform X that the police “misbehaved” with voters and prevented them from voting in Mirapur constituency.
“They are prevented from voting, it affects the voting. Police misbehave with voters and barricade women in booth number 318 of Mirapur constituency in Muzaffarnagar. The Election Commission should take this into account and ensure fair voting,” the SP said. on X.
Voting for by-elections in 15 parliamentary assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala and Uttarakhand is taking place today. Nine of these places are in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
These by-elections are important for National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which lost many seats in the last general elections, winning only 36 out of 80 in the state.
Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s slogan “from batenge to katenge”, saying that if the minister believed such statements would fetch votes, he had not learned the lessons of the Lok Sabha elections.
Yadav expressed confidence that the Samajwadi Party would win the elections.
