Conor McGregor deletes one-word reaction to Alex Pereira sparring after South Korea video goes viral

Upon his arrival in South Korea, Alex Pereira was greeted as a hero returning from the war.

Pereira was spotted in South Korea on a well-deserved rest after defending his own UFC three-time light heavyweight title in 2024.

Champion knocked out Jamahal Hill at UFC 300earlier Jiri Prokhazka in June and eventually Khalil Rountree Jr. cleaning in a bloody affair four months later.

Over the past few days, footage has surfaced on social media of Pereira doing all sorts of things during his travels, including sparring with a professional boxer and beating up a fan with repeated body punches.

Poatan posted an amazing encounter with a fan on Tuesday Instagram after he splashed the cash on designer stores Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

In the video, the 37-year-old Brazilian punches a fan six times in a row with a white glove on his right hand, with each blow seeming to get stronger.

Incredibly, the fan stands his ground and begs Pereira to keep going until the UFC champion is finally stopped six punches later.

Pereira even acknowledged the camera at the end of the match, as if to say how impressed he was that the fan could take all of his shots while barely moving.

Fans picked up on X and reacted to Pereira’s crazy punching video.

One said: “Brother was in bulletproof vest, no way,” while another added: “That’s really wild.”

A third jokingly commented: “Found dead two hours later.”

Pereira was first seen in action in South Korea on Monday alongside South Korean American actor and film producer Don Lee and other martial arts athletes.

During what appeared to be an open training session at a South Korean gym, Pereira was seen sparring very hard with two unknown, presumably professional boxers.

Both men, especially the second fighter, seemed intent on trading punches with Pereira as hard as possible, and at times the rejection reflected more of a real fight than training.

One fan stated on X that the more talented of the two fighters was the Olympic boxer who had been South Korea’s top amateur for years.

Overall, the viral video was very impressive as the Korean boxer took it all on the chin. However, one man named Conor McGregor didn’t seem to like what he saw.

“Nonsense,” the UFC legend said in X’s since-deleted post.

Another fan seemed to agree with the former UFC two-division champion, saying: “Sparring like that without a headgear is reckless.”

A third added: “The other guy was pretty good,” while a fourth said: “That power is terrifying.”

Pereira seems to enjoy being on the move with his team in between the fight camps he endures for his title fights.

Last week, he was called out by UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who insists he won’t fight interim champion Tom Aspinall in the ultimate legacy fight.

Jones defeated a disappointing Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Saturday night, and the latter retired at the age of 42 after the battle.

Pereira has yet to respond to Jones’ comments, but he will likely have to fight Magomed Ankalaev first.

The No. 1-ranked light heavyweight Ankalaev earned a unanimous decision victory over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 in October to retain his spot as the number one contender in the division.
