Fire at the HVAF building in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Crews are on the scene of a large fire at a building that provides assistance to homeless veterans.

The HVAF building is located near 10th and Pennsylvania. Investigators say that the fire broke out around 9:30 Saturday evening in the residential part of the facility.

The staff spent about an hour trying to count all their tenants. There are currently no reports of serious injuries or fatalities.

Metro Police and the Indianapolis Fire Department are also on the scene.

And the fire is still burning at this time.
