A Columbia University man has been charged with allegedly robbing a hospital and assaulting his cellmate after the robbery.

According to court documents, on November 16 at 12:45, law enforcement officers responded to an alleged robbery at the hospital.

Records show Dakota Foley was seen on security footage holding a knife in one hand and taking a pocketknife from a hospital patient.

A second probable cause report said at 5:21 a.m. that day, security footage showed Foley assaulting a cellmate.

The report says that Foley can be seen in the video standing with a blanket and white thread in his hands.

Foley then approached the other detainee, wrapped a white string around his neck and began to pull him back.

According to court records, an officer spoke with the detainee who was allegedly attacked, and he told the officer that Foley said, “The cops put me here to kill you,” before the attack.

The Foleys were charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and second-degree assault.
