We’re seriously jealous of the incredible new Japanese Pokémon gold and silver merchandise

The Pokémon company introduced a new assortment of souvenirs based on Pokemon gold and silver in celebration of Gen 2’s 25th anniversary.

To be honest, we are very jealous. A lot of the souvenirs can look pretty drab and tacky, but the selection here is actually pretty good. You’ve got bomber jackets, thermos mugs, key chains, stickers, chocolate, slide puzzles, pens, plushies, backpacks – all kinds! It’s a nice way to celebrate such a significant milestone for gold and silver. Well, aside from releasing games on Nintendo Switch Online, that is. growl…

The range will be available through Pokémon Center stores in Japan from November 23, 2025as online stores like Amazon Japan certainly offer international shipping if you’re desperate to pick something up.

We are particularly fond of the trash can. It’s based on Gold and Silver’s Vermillion Gym, in which you search through a bunch of trash cans to find two hidden switches. There’s even text on the bottom of the can that roughly translates to “No, it’s just trash.” A wonderful thing.
