A roadside shooting victim has sparked a homicide investigation in Lumberton, police say

LAMBERTON, NC (WBTW) — Lumberton police have opened a homicide investigation after an incident Saturday afternoon involving a man who was found lying next to his car with a gunshot wound.

Police arrived at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 211 and Saddletree Road just before 4 p.m. The man was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital where he died.

Detectives and investigators are currently on the scene, but details are limited.
