‘Bulldozer on standby’: Yogi Adityanath warns in Jharkhand | Latest news from India

Monday is the last day of campaigning for the second and final phase of the Jharkhand parliamentary elections. Voting will take place the day after tomorrow.

On Monday, days after the Supreme Court, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warned of a “bulldozer” in Jharkhand. laid out national guidelines against arbitrary demolition by the authorities in various states.

Although criticized by opposition parties and civil society, the method has been adopted by governments led by the BJP, the UP chief minister’s party that pioneered the practice.

He made the remarks at Jamtara in Jharkhand, accusing the ruling coalition led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) of “looting” the state.

“They looted the natural resources of Jharkhand and the funds sent by (Prime Minister) Modi. They facilitated the infiltration of Bangladeshi migrants and Rohingyas, posing a serious threat to ‘beti, mati, roti’ (girls, land and food). The bulldozer is now ready to return the looted funds,” the BJP leader said, PTI reported.

He also claimed that the state is witnessing “unbridled” extraction of its natural resources. He said the practice “flourished” under the ruling alliance, resulting in Jharkhand being “eviscerated” by “mafia activities”.

Adityanath further accused the JMM-led government of supporting “spies” involved in “land jihad” and “love jihad”, adding that if the BJP’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) wins, it will not “spare such forces”.

The UP CM also alleged that the Congress, an ally of the JMM, was “obstructing” the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

“Now is the time for the Krishna Kanhaiya temple in Mathura,” he declared.

Voting in the second and final phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections will take place the day after tomorrow. Counting of votes will take place on Saturday.
