TikTok ghouls post fake footage of ‘Liam Payne’s funeral’: Fans rage as fake footage purportedly tragic at One Direction star’s memorial goes viral

Devastated fans of Liam Payne have slammed TikTok ghouls after they posted fake footage purporting to show the One Direction star’s funeral.

Payne, 31, is set to be buried in a ceremony later this week after falling from a hotel room balcony in Argentina last month.

But sick trolls looking for clicks have been posting videos of other funerals on TikTok, claiming they were taken from the singer’s memorial.

The video has been viewed millions of times, but Payne’s fans were quick to call it a fake.

The posters have been called “disrespectful” and “incorrect” but remain online.

One user wrote: “People need to stop this, it’s wrong on so many levels. Talking about other people’s funerals is Liam Payne, so disrespectful, so sad to see what people do for views.”

Funeral footage from earlier high-profile services was used and labeled Payne’s funeral.

This includes footage of Prince William as well as footage from Sir Bobby Charlton’s funeral.

Details of Payne’s funeral are being kept under wraps, but it is believed to take place in his home city of Wolverhampton this week.

The service is said to be taking place at St Peter’s or St Paul’s Church in Pendeford, which is closer to Payne’s childhood home.

His family are said to want a private funeral, but an insider previously told MailOnline: ‘Liam will have a very big send-off, quite possibly in a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart. Liam is so loved by so many people that there will obviously be huge demand, so the service is sure to be a huge event.”

Thousands of One Direction and Payne fans are expected to visit the Midlands city to line the streets on the day.

In addition to Payne’s four co-stars Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, dozens of big names are also believed to be in attendance.

His girlfriend at the time of his death Kate Cassidy and his former partner and former X Factor judge Cheryl are also expected to be there.

It is not known whether Payne’s son, seven-year-old Bear, will be on duty.

After his death, Bear’s mother Cheryl gave a heartbreaking interview in which she said her son would have to “face the reality of never seeing his father again”.

Tributes to the singer, including flowers, stuffed toys and cards, continue to be left in the singer’s hometown by grieving fans.

The memorial in the cenotaph was “respectfully” moved on the eve of Memorial Day.

Speaking to X (formerly Twitter), Wolverhampton City Council wrote: “Ahead of the memorial services on Sunday and Monday at the Cenotaph, the council has respectfully moved the tribute to Liam Payne to the bandstand in West Park.

“People can leave any kind of tribute to Liam at the memorial in the stands.”

It came after three people were charged in connection with his death, as Argentine authorities ruled out involvement of third parties in his fall.

Payne died of multiple injuries and internal and external bleeding after his body was found in the hotel’s courtyard, a post-mortem examination said.

A hotel worker and drug dealer were two of three mystery men arrested earlier this month.

Police in Argentina believe they have uncovered drug trafficking at the CasaSur Palermo hotel, where the One Direction star fell to his death from his third-floor balcony on October 16.

The authoritative Argentinian news site Infobae named the 21-year-old and 24-year-old boys as two of the three arrested suspects.

They are accused of supplying Mr Payne with drugs, while a third suspect is under investigation for abandoning a man who later died.

Prosecutors have made it clear that any idea that Liam took his own life has been ruled out and said he was in a state of “semi-to-full unconsciousness” when he fell to his death when he “didn’t know what he was doing”. .

After his death, Liam’s father Jeff Payne flew to Buenos Aires, where he recognized his son and visited the tribute wall left outside.

His son’s body was repatriated to the UK earlier this month.
